Normally we do Toronto artist’s you should know, but 2020 is different, We’re going to be showcasing more artist across Canada no matter the city they’re from. We’re currently doing a list for majority of cities that have a large hip-hop influence – Toronto is next, Let us know what city we should cover in the comments below !
This Edition is a list of Ottawa based artists, With Ottawa giving us the likes of Belly, Massari, Swisha T, Paper Boy Prezzy and more it’s only right we lookout for whos next.
This compiled list of artists is in no particular order one is not better than the other and should be taken as a list of Artist you should be looking out for in 2020 and onwards, This list was compiled off of notability and some of the artist’s I have stumbled across this year. Some are very unknown and others are popular right now.

Jay Honest is one of the hardest working artist’s out of Canada’s capital, From creating music to the business side of the industry Jay has this down pat. We’ve done a feature on Jay before noticing his come up within the industry he’s been planting his name in stone for a few years, With the release of his “Super Star” record hitting over 240k streams on Spotify and his numbers rapidly hitting almost 100k on every song he’s defiantly an artist to watch for.

Arty Warhol, We’ve done a various amount of posts on this young artist who’s been making waves since he jumped in the game, Arty is a unique sounding artist knowing his own sound and will grip you in lyrically while listening to his music. Arty is one of Ottawa’s top 10 underrated artists hands down.
In 2016 arty had a smash hit “Now” surpassing over 300k streams creating a wave for himself musically, check out his latest release “opp hoe” below.
Nathan Miles is Ottawas most slept on artist out of the city, Visually he has some of the best videos to come out of Ottawa, Nathan has his own sound showcasing that he can set himself aside from another artist from his city. When we first seen his “HYLMN” visual we had to replay it multiple times.

City is personally one of my favourite artists out of Ottawa from his visuals, lyricism, versatility and the way he structures his records to tell a story city has this rap game in the palm of his hands.
City should be on ANY top 10 list if they’re focusing on Ottawa as a whole.

Mischa is a new artist in our scopes, We were put on to her with her “Up Now” visual and the amount of creativity put in to this visual and record is outstanding. Misha is the only female on this list and we’re heavily searching for more female artist’s to feature on the blog.

Benzz is on the list not only because you should know about him as an artist but because people need to realize that there is more behind the scenes that he openly shows when it comes to marketing his music.

Josef is a new artist on our radar while doing research of Ottawa artists and his record for “Hurt Me Bad” has to be one of the best song’s we’ve heard in 2020 surpassing 114k streams on Spotify in just a short time it’s a whole vibe and we’re anticipating a visual for this record. Dynamic aka Ya Favourite Lightskin is one of Canada’s most important people, From being a OG in the music industry to putting on for the majority of Canada, Dynamic owns BringYaEhGame a Canadian hiphop blog and radio show. Dynamic also puts on a “Hip-Hop Food Drive ” Tour where he stops in various cities in Ontario throwing shows in support of local food banks. Dynamic is one hell of an artist as well, his last project “On A Quest” is one of his best bodies of work released in 2019.
So aside from being an artist, Radio host, Doing amazing things for the communities Dynamic is 100% one of Ottawa’s top 10 artists period.
TwoTiime is an artist that just came on our radar with his new visual for “Hood Cry” surpassing almost 300k youtube views and 81k on Spotify at the moment & rapidly climbing he’s found his market and is up next out of Ottawa. He talks about the issues surrounding him within growing up within the lifestyle he is forced to live. TwoTiime has a Toronto vibe but he’s set himself apart from the rest of Canadian music right now.
The record is short but the replay value is unreal, It’s our opinion that if this young artist hits us with more records like this he’ll be one of Drakes co-signs. Check out the HoodCry visual below
