If you missed #NXNE the other week then you missed one hell of a show, If you remember we gave away 5 pairs of VIP tickets to see SchoolBoyQ alongside Ghostface Killah and other artists perform at the NXNE Portlands event.
We had a little trouble getting into the venue by the time we were allowed in Ghostface was just about to go on stage, We lined up among the millions of media to enter the photo pit just to be told they were told full and to leave rudely by security. So we moved on to look around what could have been a SOLD out event.
Later one we approached the media entrance so we could gain access to schoolboyq’s set we got in ! Total success, SchoolBoy came on stage and the whole venue was going CRAZY.. I’ve personally never seen SchoolBoy perform but it’s one for the record books. The event was an overall success in my books other than security not doing their job’s and watching the show rather than watching the crowd in the pit & the amount of media there was unreal ( Way too packed ).

Tips for what we hope NXNE implements for next year.
- Less media in the pit
- Better Security
- More Toronto based hiphop artists
- Larger scale promotion
Other than that we loved the event and hope NXNE continues the hiphop events.
