TORONTO– Nocturne Nightclub is small but packed a crowd Thursday night for Barker Booking Agency’s
RnB Showcase, hosted by Ramone.
The event featured local Toronto talent including Coco Leah, Demeko, and special guests
Desran and Leoh Davis. Every artist that performed gave it their all whether the crowd was into it or
not.
We sat down with Coco Leah and talked about her come up in the music industry and
experiences in the studio.
Mississauga-born, Leah has been singing for 15 years, starting out as a teenager, saying writing
and poetry have been therapeutic for her over the years. She also does it all while trying to balance her
office job as a business administrator and her son.
With en EP on the way, she says her experience in the studio is something she loves.
“It was a house studio and you would stay over, but you would just do music until you fell
asleep […] and I love that”, she says.
Even when she is at her day job, she is still trying to promote herself through social media, such
as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
As a single mother trying to make it in the music industry, Coco Leah stays positive and tells us how much of herself she puts into her songs.
“No matter what you’re going through, you’re good. As long as you trust yourself, and you’re
good within yourself, it doesn’t matter what the obstacle is”, Leah says.
