Alex “Artiztik” Van Dusen is a 22-year-old up and coming artist from Ottawa, who aspires to be more than just your average Joe.
Growing up around his father’s band, Van Dusen was exposed to different genres of music all the time. However when he first heard rap, his inspiration was sparked forever. With nine years of experience, the artist thrives to make the most unique music for his fans.
Taking from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Tory Lanez, G-Eazy and Future, Van Dusen says he is inspired by every genre but particularly Hip-Hop. In fact, being in the studio is more important to him rather than wasting a night partying.
Artiztik has worked with several different artists and producers, one in particular known as Metroboomin; a producer known for his work with artists such as Drake and Future.
Although he has yet to make anything with Metroboomin, he hopes to change this in the future.
His last EP (extended play) released on Valentine’s Day got more attention than he thought it would.
Based off a break-up with his girlfriend at the time, the EP resulted in numerous radio interviews and articles written about the young artist.
“It was honestly such a crazy and humbling experience and one that I will never forget”, Artiztik says.
As for performing, Artiztik has yet to make a stage presence but says he is aiming to do so this summer. His overall goals are to continue making music that people can enjoy all while hopefully inspiring others to work hard for what they believe in.
Fans can look forward to much more content plus a release schedule in the near future. Although he does not want to disclose too many details, he says fans should be “stoked” for what he has in store for them.
“I’ve been working really hard to create a diverse catalogue of work, which will provide more frequent releases. […] It’s been a long road and it’s just going to get longer so whether you’re a long-time supporter or a new fan, I appreciate all the love”, he says.
