Langston Francis – Throw It Away

oronto-born rising star Langston Francis released the music video for his latest single “Throw it Away.”

The hazy and gritty performance-based video was directed by Hyghly Alleyne of deadin100 (Drake’s “The Motto”, The Weeknd, Nav). In addition to “Throw it Away,” Hyghly also directed the forthcoming video for fan-favourite “Peaches,” set for release later this summer.

“When I heard ‘Peaches’ and ‘Throw It Away’ immediately ideas started running through my head,” said Hyghly. “I love working on projects collectively with other artists – messing together creative ideas from start to finish. Langston knows what he wants creatively and it shows in these projects.”

Showcasing an atmospheric, sombre track with laid-back trap influences, “Throw It Away” explores conflicting emotions towards the end of a relationship. “It works through the feelings that arise when you realize that maybe you’ve been the problem the whole time, but the relationship has become a safety belt and you just can’t let go,” said Langston.

“Throw it Away” is Langston’s first single since his debut EP, roaming, which has racked up 7.5 million combined streams worldwide. Langston has performed at Osheaga, FEQ and, most recently, Ottawa Bluesfest. He is currently in the studio working on his sophomore EP, which will take him in a more mature direction sonically and lyrically.
