Toronto-based rising artist, Langston Francis, premiered a video for his new single “Fall from Grace” The other day and it’s one for the books.

The brooding and intimate video is directed by Adrian Bellaire and produced by Popp Rok (Director X’s Production Company). The video, which was shot on a vintage Blox 16mm camera, chronicles a group of friends who escape the city for adventure.  “Fall from Grace” is a visual and sonic continuation of Langston’s debut “FCKD IT UP,” which was released in November of last year.   “Fall from Grace” is co-written by Langston Francis and produced by Pops (Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q) and Mikhail (Drake, Lil Wayne).

Last month, Langston was announced as the first artist to join Roots’ 2018 #sweatstyle advertising campaign.  The annual global initiative, launching later this year, celebrates the best and brightest emerging artists in Canada by featuring them in advertising campaigns in Canada, United States, and Taiwan.  Langston joins a list of notable artists that have previously been featured in the campaign including Daniel Caesar, Jessie Reyez, and Ruth B.

A multifaceted creator (songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, photographer), Langston grew up in Kensington Market in Toronto surrounded by hip hop, electronica, and jazz, vintage boutiques and art spaces – all influences that have helped shape his creativity. Langston will perform in Toronto in the coming weeks including at Paradigm Talent Agency and Embrace Presents’s CMW showcase on May 10th at Velvet Underground.

“By not following any kind of plan,” says Langston, “I let my instincts help me say what I want to say without thinking about what’s out there or any category my music is supposed to be in.”
