Whatthehype caught up with Jimmy and he had this to say about the record
“TRIGGERED” is kind of a a new beginning for me. Something inside me as been triggered due to recent events in my life, and the same aggression you hear in the song, I am literally applying to my everyday life! I think this is a great follow up to my “Pack & a Plug” featuring Johnny Darko, both being very hype trap singles. I speak of very true and real situations from my plug being on the run because of an attempted murder, to having a female switch up on me, after sucking my dick a week prior, to foreshadowing retaliation in the line “a few from my side, they done dropped out, so we pop up when we hop out” But more intersting enough, there is a line in there that truly “triggered” the emotions of the listeners. I know this to be true because the day AFTER i released it, people thought I was dissing Dillanponders with the following line: “Shoot to kill, we dont fuck with leggings.” I find it very funny that people thought that was a diss, when i SOLEY meant, leggings as in LEG SHOTS. This is a slang we use in the hood. But if the show fits, WEAR IT. But it is viewed as a diss record, when I am telling you IT IS NOT A DISS RECORD. But i think subconsciously I will forever take shots at any enemy I have.
Im currently working on Glass of Chardonnay pt.2 and expect to hear more work with me & Josh Grant as we have a collective group called “NVDR” which is pronounced “INVADER”
