The Toronto-trio EMP dropped a TRIP of a track with this one, titled Pink Nights.
The Toronto trio clocked it in at three minutes and 14 seconds and you can feel a definite House/Trance music atmosphere in the instrumental. The vocals have a very ethereal/spectral feel thanks to the quality effects applied to them. You won’t find much variety in the lyrics as you usually don’t with these types of tracks, and that’s not a bad thing. I consider tracks of this style to be purely atmospheric, speaking more so to your mood/soul than your mind. The lyrics speak of Codeine and Pink nights, spending it all on a girl, getting down with said girl and then doing it all over again. Pree’s vocals complement the song greatly, her voice is just angelic and would make Ellie Goulding proud. I can only assume that she is speaking from the perspective of the girl being talked about as her lyrics revolve around being confused of a mans intentions/actions.
This is one of those tracks that you play on your car system when you’re driving home late or one you bounce on a home sound system if you really want the beautiful full effect of the bass and nice highs/lows present in this track. So turn the lights down low, grab some bud, a drink, or just your favourite pair of studio headphones and take in this mind-bending audio gem.
