Emcee Brandon Michael delivers an uplifting track with Family Business.
Just over three minutes long, Family Business is a quality track sporting solid audio production. The lyrics seem to have drawn inspiration from events that have transpired in the emcee’s life, giving the track a nice atmosphere of self-reflection/discovery. You can hear the passion behind the story in Michael’s voice, which complements the aforementioned tone of the track.
The only issue I could identify was the slight cracking in Michael’s voice during a small amount of his bars in the beginning of the song. Aside from the few voice cracks, Michael displays solid talent with the substance present in this track. The instrumental doesn’t overpower the track, and it suits the style of the track as well. If you’re a fan of Kid Cudi/Logic style “life-story” tracks, this one is for you.
