Aleema experiences “Summer’s Interlude” at the Supermarket

Summer’s Interlude 2017

Jesso Media and Soundstock hosted Summer’s Interlude Thursday night inside Supermarket in the heart of Kensington. Although a slow start to the show (about 45 minutes) and some technical difficulties, an amazing band EVLTN (whom you should know about like right now, go follow their shit) kicked off the night with a bang and it only got better.

Brampton’s finest, Derin Falana, headlined the night alongside GTA favorites like Osei, The Native, Jayd Pink, Leila Dey and Vee.

We need to talk about Osei, The Native for a minute. More than a minute actually. When I tell you he had the crowd, he. Had. The. Crowd. Mississauga native hyped the crowd to oblivion, bringing all the homies up and repped hard. The kids got so much talent its ridiculous.

Vee a.k.a the female B.I.G reborn, absolutely tore the stage up. Had everyone’s attention right away and kept it right till the very last song. Pinkies up for this woman, she’s about to fuck it all up.

Jayd Pink graced us all the moment she opened her mouth. The crowd witnessed a genuine star (not in the making, she’s already a star for real) Thursday night. I know I was mesmerized with her set and didn’t want her to leave the stage at all.

Leila Dey was something special; sweet-spoken but so hard hitting it’d give you goosebumps. So sultry and smooth, I could listen to her all night and not want it to stop.

Of course, Derin Falana was the actual star of the night; performing hits like These Days and Bet, Falana refreshed the crowd and brought an energy like no other (as usual, duh). Catch your boy at Manifesto Saturday June 10th alongside stars like Isaiah Rashad, Jidenna and Majid Jordan.
