“Yoana (Yaw-na) Rae held a private listening session at 4Sound Music Studio in North
York Saturday evening to give us a taste of her upcoming 9 track project, With Love, Yoana. Lots
of people packed up the tiny studio room, eager to hear. The Saskatoon singer put a great
amount of heart, soul and energy into every song on the project just like any artist would.
Tracks like Love Revolution, Guessing Games, KILLA and In My World are my personal favorites.
The project includes something for everyone, not just one set genre. It consists of soul, a
lil reggae, and hip hop. It may seem as if Yoana is still looking for her sound, but the versatility
she possesses is more profound (bars, I’m not a rapper though).
Yoana has a story behind every track and says, “even though there’s a song called Killa,
do everything with love, no matter what.”
