“Crazy, Unique, Fire.” Toronto producer Jeramy Henry better known as Tha Crazy Guy describes his unique sound by these simple words.
Since diving headfirst into production at age 14, Tha Crazy Guy has amassed an impressive resume, working with established and upcoming artists alike, crafting hip hop, soul, reggae and pop influenced beats using hard hitting drums and flushing synth chords.
The talented producer is a product of his influences, citing different established producers as inspiration while he helmed and perfected his personal sound. “Just Blaze because of his versatility, Alchemist because of his drums and orbital sounds, and Swizz Beatz because how he uses synths & orchestra sounds,” he explained.
Tha Crazy Guy’s beats have surpassed local reach, his biggest accomplishment being a placement with rapper Tek, a member of the legendary Boot Camp Clik for the track “In The Game” as well as working with Toronto artists like rapper Promise.
An artist in his own right, Tha Crazy Guy also raps; and he feels this is an integral part to being a successful producer. His natural musicality and understanding of flow and cadence provides him with the boost to create the perfect backdrop for another artist’s delivery. “When it comes to creating you become the artist and think what type of sound or tempo they would want.”
Tha Crazy Guy wants his works to take him far beyond his studio, and wants to inspire others to follow their calling. “Yah willing I’ll be travelling the world producing and doing motivational speeches,” he says.
