Let’s get Elevated
- The inspiration behind the writing process of “Let’s get eL-evated” was visualizing the concept of ordinary people “chancing their luck” to eL-evate them self into a better situation. Video director WestNyle brilliantly uses the metaphor of the OLG (Ontario Lottery Gaming) representing the Government and ILLA Streight representing the average player/person in society (Canada) going about their regular business hoping to cash in, turning small change into big money. Some win and most lose, similar to the idea of 1% rich and 99% poor. Within two days this conscious single was composed and ready to lay down in the booth which ended up being at Sound Resolve studio in Miss,Ont. “Let’s get eL-evated”, is the first single release and video off ILLA Streight’s upcoming 2016 “The Demo”.
No Money
- The Creativity behind “No Money” started from the sample in the chorus sang by Anne Murray on her hit record, “Danny’s Song” which ILLA Streight can recall hearing frequently on Canadian radio stations growing up. Knowing he wanted to write a hip hop track to it but not knowing when, ILLA saved that thought until he had the means to get beat made and right timing to write record and release it. His previous single and video ”Let’s get eL-evated” shows to eLevate your mind is to eLevate yourself as ILLA collects his winnings from a sports ticket but in the end turns out to just be a dream. This sets the perfect storm for his latest single “No Money”, where he awakens to different results followed by a chain of bad luck which WestNyle once again portrays in his latest video. This already being the second release from ILLA Streight of 2016 he seems to be motivated this year more than any other to build and spread his positive music with a message to those who need to hear it most.
Think about it
- This is ILLA Streight’s latest single, song/visual was recorded in Canada but he has been networking with connections from his homeland Guyana (World’s highest suicide rate) presenting him the opportunity to have his video played on a local television show. Look, listen and learn from this inspirational song and share the message. “Choose life not suicide”
